We sincerely thank our Community Partners, Family Members, Friends and Allies for joining us at the 2026 “Together Against Mental Health Stigma” Community Resource Fair, a collaborative event hosted in partnership between NAMI Contra Costa County, and Mental Health Connections (formerly Putnam Clubhouse) at Todos Santos Park on Wednesday, May 13, 2026! First annually with both organizations hosting, this community gathering was dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and connecting individuals with valuable mental health resources and support services for peers to be part of this meaningful day of community, education, and support.
This family-friendly, mental health awareness, stigma reduction event included a light stroll for health, live music from the “Clubhouse Rockers,” complimentary lunch meal and snacks, Guest speakers, interactive vendors/booths, arts and crafts, outdoor games. We excitedly celebrated the 2026 Mental Health Change Agent Appreciation Awardees as a part of Mental Health Awareness Month, along with the individuals who nominated the awardees. Lastly, we shared a dove release in memory of our loved ones gone too soon.
Over 50+ Community partners including the Miles Hall Foundation and Contra Costa Health shared behavioral health wellness resources which included information about the various county programs and how they support those impacted by mental/behavioral Illness.
A special thank you to Gigi Crowder, CEO of NAMI Contra Costa and Michael Dunn, CEO of Mental Health Connections, who MC’d the event and to Keynote speaker, Professor Aminta Mickles, from Contra Costa College as well as all of the County Service Provide Intensive Recovery Intensive Training (SPIRIT) Program students who joined us on this meaningful day along with Donald Lang, an outstanding peer of many in attendance who shared his testimony. Ted Angus, thank you for the donation on behalf of AssetMark! The Mental Health and NAMI CC Volunteers really got the day into momentum so we showed appreciation and gratitude. We look forward to seeing you next year! The planning committee really enjoyed the sunny afternoon and the outcome. Especially thank you to Mental Health Connections and all the Community Partners for your continued partnership with NAMI Contra Costa. It was a really big turnout.
