A Brief Overview of NAMI CC

Mission Statement - To provide support, outreach, education and advocacy to individuals living with and families impacted by mental illness.

NAMI Contra Costa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing outreach, education, support and advocacy to families and individuals in need of help dealing with mental illness. We have been assisting people and families affected by mental illness in Contra Costa for over 30 years. All our programs are free, so get involved today and help make a difference in your life, others’ lives, and in the local community.

NAMI Contra Costa is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We are unique in our independence with long history of helping families/loved of those impacted by mental illness along with individuals living with mental illness.

NAMI CC currently supports many underserved portions of our community. We have many groups, classes and services for our Asian Pacific Islanders (API), LatinX community, African American and Transitional Age Youth (TAY). Additionally, to help reach much of the homebound community, we provide almost all of our groups and classes via Zoom. Please visit our calendar page for group dates and times.

NAMI Contra Costa was named the 2023 California Nonprofit of the Year.

Love Volunteers

Our volunteers are the heart of NAMI CC. For over 35 years, our volunteers have been the bedrock upon which this organization was built on.

…I joined NAMI in 2015 at my lowest point when my daughter was struggling with mental illness. I was saved by the NAMI Basics and NAMI Family to Family class. NAMI CC is a great place for me. I needed help to overcome years of violent abuse and mental health problems for myself and my six children […] Looking around, I found a safe place to enter. And so began my healing journey.

NAMI [Contra Costa] was there for me when I needed them with the resources from […] I am now a volunteer at NAMI Contra Costa and don’t want any parent to feel isolated, they don’t have to walk this journey alone.
