While NAMI Contra Costa strives to provide groups and services to those affected by mental illness, there are various other groups and services within Contra Costa County that can help you. Listed below is a collection of local resources that are not sponsored by NAMI or NAMI CC.

Support Groups

For Family Members of Adults with a Mental Illness

      • In Brentwood:
        Last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.

        Open Our Hearts Support Group for Loved Ones/Caregivers of Adults with Severe Mental Illness
        Fourth Monday of each month from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM PDT.

    For Family Members of Children and Adolescents with a Mental Illness

        • ON HOLD In Lafayette:
          New Hope Support Group: 2nd Monday 7 PM – 9 PM.
          Formal diagnosis not needed. Includes parents of children with OCD.
          Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church, Rm 204, 49 Knox Drive, Lafayette.

      For Individuals with a Mental Illness

          • ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19 Weekly Mental Wellness Support Group: Please feel free to join us in a safe environment to share, listen and pray for those who are struggling with their mental well being. We will also have mental health experts from NAMI Contra Costa as well as other mental health experts at times to discuss resources for those interested and who are in need. You are not alone. We are truly all in this together.

        Educational Programs

            • Recovery Innovations: Education and peer support for people with mental illnesses.

            Activity-Based Programs

                • Peer Connections Centers: For people with a mental illness to work on vocational and social skills while running the facility. Doctor referral required.
