Meeting Description
This month is May, Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and we invite Theresa San Luis Teller to be our Guest Speaker for an exciting live meeting at John Muir Concord, Rooms 1 & 2.
Theresa San Luis Teller is an AAPI (Filipino) who was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 1999 at the University of Notre Dame while a sophomore. Twenty-seven years later, at age 47, she strives to be a stigma-fighting role model as she has worked as an activity director, is a pastor’s wife, a mother of 6-year-old twins and an advocate for individuals with mental illness. She has been a regular blog writer for two NAMI affiliates in the Midwest and has self-published her book titled, “My Brain Makes Me Proud.” Theresa’s brain makes her proud because she’s endured many things, but with all the negative experie 7\nces, she is overall proud of her skills, talents and accomplishments.
Theresa is also a musician and composer and will play her original music on the keyboard during her presentation for us!
