Our General Meeting Speaker Series on Thursday, April 16 from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM will feature Michael Pierson, a member of our NAMI CC Board of Directors, introducing us to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sharing insights on how we can utilize AI to improve and understand the risks, benefits, and potential impacts on the future of mental health care.
If you are someone who would like to learn more about this technology, join us. AI is really big right now, individuals in the mental health arena need to be acquainted because we don’t want to get left behind. So join us as Michael supports us with an innovated approach to inform the community. We will have a Question & Answer discussion from the community participants after the topic.
In addition to being well versed on AI, Michael Pierson, Esq. is a member of NAMI CC Boards of Directors, and a partner at Key Counsel, P.C. and the President-Elect of the Contra Costa County Bar Association. An accomplished trial attorney and former law professor, he also serves as court-appointed counsel in conservatorships, representing individuals with cognitive and mental health challenges. Beyond his legal work, Michael is an AI consultant and lecturer who helps organizations integrate emerging technologies responsibly and ethically. A graduate of UC Berkeley and JFKU School of Law, he brings to NAMI CC’s Board of Directors a unique blend of legal expertise, technological insight, and compassion. He believes that lasting justice begins with compassion and a steadfast respect for human dignity.
