  • Sharing the “Rapid Improvement Event” Video
  • Opportunity to Provide Input

Summary

In an effort to better respond to crises and avoid tragedies involving law enforcement, Contra Costa Health Services was involved in a robust stakeholder process, which included selected community advocates, County Behavioral Health, law enforcement personnel, and individuals with lived mental health experience. This “Rapid Improvement Event” series focused on the need for a crisis number (988) and a non-police mobile crisis response team.

This event involved “mapping out” both the current gaps in crisis response and where needed improvements must be made. For last month’s General Meeting, we shared the “Rapid Improvement Event” Crisis Response video, and we would like NAMI CC family members, friends, and community partners to join the discussion to represent a diverse group of individuals sharing viewpoints to improve our county’s response to behavioral health crises and come together to solve the shared problem as a unified team.

Thank you for your support and interest in this critically important “crisis care” issue for our loved ones living with mental health challenges.

We also encouraged community members to continue filling out the NAMI CC 2021 Mental Health Awareness Annual Awards and Recognition Nomination Form for our Mental Health Month Virtual Dinner in May.
