NAMI Basics is a free, six-session program designed for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties. No diagnosis necessary. Learn about the illnesses that are causing challenges, and the critical role families play in the treatment of those illnesses. Other topics covered include red flags, communication approaches, and school issues. The program is taught by trained teachers who are also the parents or family caregivers of individuals who experienced emotional or behavioral difficulties during childhood or adolescence.
The upcoming class will be held in person from TBD for 6 weeks at the NAMI Contra Costa office, 2151 Salvio Street, Suite V Concord, CA 94520.
