What is NAMI in Motion?

NAMI Contra Costa holds NAMI in Motion annually. It is a community event where other mental health and behavioral health-related organizations have booths to enlighten the community about resources available as well as a short walk-a-thon. Generally held in a park setting, it is also a time for families to get out and enjoy the warm, summer day.

Why do we hold NAMI In Motion?

All of our groups and services are free, and it is our goal to create greater awareness around mental illness and allow community members to utilize our programs. From our classes like Family to Family and Basics to peer-led groups like Connection, NAMI Contra Costa strives to ensure that the broader community will always have a voice for individuals and families impacted by mental illness.
