¿De qué se trata el programa educativo, De Familia a Familia de NAMI?

De Familia a Familia es un programa de 8 sesiones gratuitas para familiares, parejas, amigos, y seres queridos de personas adultas que viven con una enfermedad mental o trastorno psiquiátrico. Este curso está diseñado para ayudar a que la familia llegue a entender y apoyar a sus seres queridos, sin descuidar el propio bienestar del círculo familiar. El curso incluye información sobre diagnósticos como la esquizofrenia, el trastorno bipolar, y la depresión severa. Esta clase será en persona.

Sin duda, este curso ha sido la herramienta más útil e informativa que se
ha ofrecido en todos los años en los que he buscado respuestas… Me ha ayudado a comunicarme más efectivamente con mi hermano y a entenderlo mejor.

Este curso me ha ayudado a darme cuenta de que mi hijo aún está dentro de su cuerpo que, muchas veces, está escondido debido a la enfermedad mental con la que vive y que no estoy sola en esto.

NAMI, la Alianza Nacional de Enfermedades Mentales, es la organización más importante de salud mental con base comunitaria dedicada a mejorar las vidas de individuos y familias afectados por trastornos mentales. NAMI Contra Costa es una organización filial de NAMI California. NAMI Contra Costa y sus voluntarios, miembros, y líderes trabajan sin descanso para crear conciencia y proporcionar educación, defensa y programas de apoyo grupal para quienes viven con trastornos mentales y para sus seres queridos.

Sign up now! A new Family-to-Family Education Program begins in June 2024!

When and Where

A Family-to-Family Zoom Program starts on June 12, 2024.

Held on Wednesdays – an 8-week course/program – from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Classes will be held on 8 (eight) Wednesdays starting on June 12, 2024 and ending July 31, 2024.

Registration Requirements

Pre-registration is required. Please contact Marie (marie.kamali@namicontracosta.org) to register.

To register, email Marie with the following:

  • Name
  • Age (of your loved one struggling with a mental crisis)
  • Address

Please sign up as soon as possible as we have limited capacity for each program.

What is the NAMI Family to Family Education Program?

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of Adults living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. Research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an Adult individual living with a mental health condition.

NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises.
